Job Description
• Work closely with Flytxt Neon production installations as part of 24/7 System Operations team
• Deploy and upgrade platform instances for Development/QA as well as for customers
• Automate deployment/upgrades and all maintenance procedures
• Grow and perfect automated network monitoring, write monitor scripts
• Change and configuration management
• Troubleshoot platform and communicate with software engineering to resolve problems
• Communicate closely with Chief System Architect and relay ideas and concerns
• Tune the operation of the platform and suggest improvements
• Work closely with software engineers to understand upcoming new features early


Desired Candidate Profile
• 2-3 years experience in production system management
• Strong experience in UNIX system administration, strong preference for Solaris
• Strong knowledge in TCP/IP Networking, DNS, Firewalls, VPN, etc.
• Strong understanding of OS internals (file systems, IO, storage, processes/threads, etc.)
• Fluency in at least one programming/scripting language (bash, perl, python, C, or similar)
• Experience in one RDBMS, ideally Oracle, working knowledge of SQL
• Ideally experience in JBOSS, JMS servers, Apache, system monitoring, Log4J
• Ability to handle on-call duty and periodic work as part of rotation
• Willingness to work in shifts
